Anyone who has been following me since I started blogging (almost 8 years ago already), knows that I am not a big fan of cooking. But baking I actually do like to do when I have a bit of spare time. I’m a true foodie and always in for a good batch of cookies or cupcakes. So a couple of weeks ago I was asked to try out some stuff from the Dutch webshop called DeLeuksteTaartenShop.nl . My parents in law actually are really good bakers and cake decorators so I teamed up with them to make some awesome cupcakes :D
I ordered a ton of stuff such as different flavours of buttercream, decorations made of sugar, edible glitter (you know me, I love my glitter), a good cupcake batter mix, foodcolouring and some other awesome decoration items and basics needed to bake some cupcakes.
So first up it was time to put together some mix and bake the base of the cupcakes! This was the most easy part, just add butter and eggs, whisk away and put it in the oven for 18 minutes :) We deceided to start with 12, and 12 was more than enough for the 4 of us having to eat all of these cupcakes later on haha!
After they had cooled down for about 30 minutes it was time to decorate! My mother in law felt super inspired by the little cupcake cups with the flamingos on, so she made an awesome flamingo cupcake (made from sugarpaste and put on top of a layer of raspberry drizzle buttercream). I also made a couple such as the frozen inspired one with the blue and white, and the unicorn ones with mini mashmallows. Even my husband decorated a few, and he was surprisingly good at it! Here are some extra photos of all the cupcakes we made:
I really love how all of the cupcakes turned out. All of them were super unique and easy to make <3
